Peter C. Johnson 1999-2000

From June 1999 until May 2000, I was an Editor and Senior Writer for the Eclipsys Corporation. I worked on a team of four senior editors and writers.
The Eclipsys Corporation is a leader in the health care industry. Eclipsys sells IT solutions to large enterprises for clinical use, resource planning, financial administration, and the like. Each solution is unique and could span mainframes to hand-held computing devices such as Palm Pilots.
I edited materials ranging from technical configuration guides to training courses. I worked in direct support of corporate Education Services, and updated training administration materials on the Internet for 130 courses. Typically, these materials were written in Word or Frame and then ported to HTML, but the code always needed manual tweaking.
My responsibilities were hands-on and involved the details of PostScript-based production. My primary publishing tools were FrameMaker 5.56, MS Word, Adobe Acrobat 4.0+, Photoshop 5.5, and Illustrator 7.
I also freelanced in print and on the web with the above tools plus QuarkXpress 4.0+.
I became proficient with Cascading Style Sheets and evolving production tools for web development, such as Fireworks, Dreamweaver, and Flash.
